Compare a symbol
Font panels align the top-left of the Line outline to make shape and size differences visible. They preserve a common physical scale; they do not show baseline placement. Original references use their historical pixels at 30 pixels per em.
Compilation overlay

This overlay preserves the imported coordinates, including bearing differences. It measures compilation changes from the existing source, not corrections to that source.

TrueType extent counts use conservative control-point bounds. Extending beyond the typographic line box is not itself proof of clipping. The hhea and Windows extents, browser canvas results, and application layout behavior must be considered separately.

Decisions for Steve
1 · Geometry review
Identify the authority and evidence needed to approve each changed symbol. Start with the thumb family, nose/circle cases, and S3863c.
Recommendation: keep the current source as the historical baseline, then record each accepted correction with before/after images.
2 · First release formats
Recommendation: carry 2048-UPEM TTF and WOFF2 forward. Keep 1200 as a diagnostic control. Defer OTF distribution until its size and compatibility issues are resolved.
3 · Layout compatibility
Recommendation: preserve the existing top-origin / below-baseline placement for this release path. Document glyph bounds and any size changes. A new vertical model needs separate application testing.
4 · Color and Apple testing
Recommendation: keep color experimental for now. Assign a real Safari/macOS/iOS test surface before promising support. Separate Line and Fill remain the delivery foundation.
